Welcome to my very first blog! Yes, very first blog it's actually quite strange typing in first person! Blogging is so different from writing articles and editing for Vale Family Magazine. Articles and blogging are worlds apart so please bare with me if I ramble on or make a fluff of it. To any pro bloggers out there reading this feel free chuckle now, we all started somewhere, and this is where I am starting.
THE REASONS TO BLOG:
The reason why I am learning to blog and asking others who follow the magazine to join me is because I am a great believer in sharing... ideas, tips and learning from others. I can see blogging as a fab way to do that (I love the fact I write in an informal, it's liberating). Something I can not do in my magazine!! Oh look I can use multi !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry I will get it out of my system soon. The freedom of writing in this informal way is not the only reason for blogging though, it is a great tool for raising the profile of a topic or issue close to your heart or maybe blog on a professional level as you want to show your expertise?
Or maybe you are an inspiring writer that wants to get your name out on www. Either way I think it is great to hear from our local community, people who live, work and parent in our local area really are a fountain of knowledge making the readers feel it is far more relevant to them than a blog by somebody in Kathmandu.
JOIN ME AND BLOG:
Recently I made an open invite to Vale Family Magazine readers to contact us if they are interested in blogging on this website. I am looking forward to reading and sharing blogs from our local community covering Evesham, Pershore and Broadway and I am honestly open to ideas, bring on the blog! I understand starting a blog is quite daunting, I have to admit I googled how to write a blog and found lots of great blogs by bloggers on how to blog, but really if you want to write a blog it is good to take on board some of the tips and guidance (like definitely spell check) I am sure I have some of this wrong but I am trainee blogger. I found Brian A. Klems website The 12 Dos and Don’ts of Writing a Blog guided me enough to get started.
I would like to hear from all walks of life, I am a great believer in positivity and that's the aim of the blogs to inspire, amuse and at times help share knowledge.
Here is a little idea of the first 5 ideas that springs to mind..
